Dr. Rama Sood

GIOSTAR-Dr.Sood

Dr. Rama Sood, MD, is the medical director of GIOSTAR Chicago in Glenview, Illinois. Before joining the team at GIOSTAR, Dr. Sood led a successful pediatric career in Toledo, Ohio spanning more than 30 years.

As a certified diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Sood served as the chairperson of the Department of Pediatrics at the Flower Hospital in Toledo for over 25 years and quickly received national recognition for her compassionate and effective approach to medicine.

Dr. Sood has also been trained countless medical students and residents in pediatrics. Both of her professional endeavors have provided her with strong and global media representation, including interviews in local newspapers and on television.

Honing in on her expertise as both a practitioner and educator, Dr. Sood helped launch Stem Cell Centre in Chandigarh, India. Based in one of India’s most prestigious cities, this center provided stem cell therapy to patients suffering from multiple sclerosis, orthopedic injuries, and numerous other diseases. In this role, she administered numerous stem cells via intra-articular, intravenous, and intrathecal injections to patients. In her role as medical director at GIOSTAR Chicago, Dr. Sood oversees operations and key strategic initiatives.

In her role as Medical Director, she has actively monitored patient outcomes from intake, to procedure, to recovery. Dr. Sood routinely delivered presentations and conducted educational seminars for physicians and patients on the stem cell therapy and science. She plays a central role on the GIOSTAR clinical team, thoroughly reviewing medical records to assess patient candidates’ eligibility for stem cell procedures.

Dr. Sood received extensive training in regenerative medicine from Global Stem Cells Group, which consisted of:

  • comprehensive lectures and presentations from leading practitioners in stem cell therapy and science
  • hands-on clinical training in orthopedic knee injections laboratory training, including processing stem cells (introduction to the centrifuge and other laboratory equipment).
  • extraction of adipose tissue from the patient required for autologous stem cell transplantation
